SPIMA is now officially registered as a National Non-profit Corporation. The members of SPIMA would like to thank all those who have supported our efforts so far. We can now focus on our next primary objectives, the development of 'Operator Training and Certification' and the introduction of membership.
We hope that the outcome of CSA's efforts in developing a 'Sewer Distress and Defect Coding Technical Guide' will favour our position and be able to provide a solid base for our training objective.

It has been a long time since the last update but rest assure that the members of SPIMA are working to establish and provide training in the near future.

SPIMA has applied for a non-profit corporation registration and is in the last phases of obtaining the approvals. The first step after registration is approved will be the establishment of membership and membership fees, reorganization of the Board Members, and registration for the Asset Management Course that was previously offered by NAAPI.

Operator Training will follow shortly after that. SPIMA is working closely with CSA in the development of a National Sewer Coding and Distress Guideline and wants to ensure that any form of training provided is consistent with the expected CSA project outcome.

CSA Infrastructure will be engaging anyone in the industry to comment on the recommendations of the working group, for more information please visit Publication #3: Common terminology for municipal sewer defect and distress coding
